New dome growth on Mount St. Helens Volcano in Washington State, USA. U. S. Geological Survey photo taken by Steve Schilling on October 14, 2004. The 1980-86 dome is in the foreground with sun shining on its summit. The new lobe is between the old dome and the south wall of the 1980 crater. The lighter gray rock on the recent lobe is new lava that has reached the surface. Weather has prevented obtaining new photos, but dome-growth seismicity continues as of October 18, 2004.  http://vulcan.wr.usgs.gov
